The trailer features permanently installed and fully functioning models from Carrier Transicolds entire current product family including the Neos, Viento and Xarios direct drive systems, Supra truck as well as the Maxima and Vector trailer systems plus Datacold temperature recorders and Foretrack GPRS system monitoring.
The trailer is configured into three separate compartments, two evaporator sections allow the single and multi-temperature units to be operated at various temperatures whilst the third section is fitted out with the direct drive and truck units and serves as a classroom and display area.
“This configuration allows us to realistically simulate the varying conditions experienced by operators of all our transport refrigeration systems in the field and provides unrivalled levels of practical repair, maintenance and diagnostic training for our technicians” said Scott Dargan, Operations Director at Carrier Transicold.
The training trailer has required a significant investment from Carrier Transicold both in terms of capital expenditure and resource.
Scott Dargan adds “The time and effort that Phil Atherton, Carrier Transicolds Training Manager has put into designing and delivering this facility is yet another example of our desire to ensure we have the best trained and most reactive technicians so that first time fixes and unit uptimes are maximized for our customers. As with our unique City & Guilds accredited training programmes, this initiative is yet another first which once again raises the standards and sets us apart from our competitors”.
